Tribal Leaders: Shakopee Tribe shares the wealth

"As tribal leaders, we are disappointed and disturbed to see the hostility directed at the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community based on the misperception that this prosperous tribe does not "share" its resources with other less fortunate tribes. Nothing could be further from the truth. In 2003 alone, tribes outside Minnesota received nearly $4 million from the Shakopee Sioux, to assist with everything from schools and housing to clean water and fire sprinkler systems."
