Ex-Abramoff partner set for deal in fraud case
Thursday, December 8, 2005

Adam Kidan, the former business partner of Jack Abramoff, is near a deal with federal prosecutors to testify against the disgraced lobbyist in their bank fraud case.
Under the deal, Kidan would get up to 10 years in exchange for his cooperating in the case against Abramoff. A "change of plea" hearing has been sent for December 15, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
Kidan and Abramoff were indicted on bank fraud charges for their failed purchase of the SunCruz casino fleet. The men allegedly faked a wire transfer because they couldn't cover the $147.5 million deal, prosecutors said. Abramoff is set to go to trial next week.
Shortly after the deal collapsed, the former owner of SunCruz was murdered on a Ft. Lauderdale street. Three men have been charged with the murder of Konstantinos "Gus" Boulis.
Kidan will cooperate with this investigation as well, the Sun-Sentinel said.
