Artman ready to get to work as assistant secretary

Carl Artman, a member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin, could be sworn in as assistant secretary for Indian affairs as early as this week.
Artman was confirmed to head the Bureau of Indian Affairs on Monday. The vote in the Senate was 87 to 1.
Artman won't be going far for his new job. He already works at the Interior Department as the solicitor in charge of Indian affairs.
Previously, Artman worked as general counsel for his tribe and as its lobbyist in Washington.
