A meeting with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe to discuss the University of North Dakota's "Fighting Sioux" nickname and logo has been postponed.
North Dakota University System Chancellor William Goetz was supposed to meet with tribal leaders yesterday. But Goetz was apparently delayed by bad weather.
The tribe has passed a resolution against the use of "Sioux." Without the tribe's support, UND would have to eliminate the nickname and logo.
