Inmates who escaped prison linked to Native gangs
Tuesday, September 2, 2008

Four men who escaped from a prison in Saskatchewan remain at large and authorities say they are linked to Native gangs.

Ryan John Agecoutay, 25; and Daniel Richard Wolfe, 32, are said to belong to the Indian Posse, one of many gangs in Saskatchewan. Authorities said Wolfe is considered an "influential" gang leader. Both were being held on violent crime charges, including murder and aggravated assault.

The men are among the six Native inmates who broke out of the Regina Correctional Centre on August 24. Two have been captured in an incident that has raised concerns about the way the public was notified. The prison waited 14 hours before sending out an alert.
