'Plum Book' lists federal government jobs

People looking for a job in the Barack Obama administration can turn to the "Plum Book" and find out about vacant and soon to be vacant positions in the executive branch.

The section for the Interior Department lists more than two dozen posts at the Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians, the National Indian Gaming Commission and the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Not all of them will be up for grabs though -- some positions are currently filled by career employees who probably won't be going anywhere on January 20, 2009.

Most of the posts -- like the assistant secretary for Indian affairs -- require a connection to get in the door. But to go through it, applicants have to fill out a seven-page questionnaire that asks some probing questions.
