Little Bighorn re-enactment told from tribal view
Monday, June 29, 2009

Thousands of people attended a re-enactment of the June 25, 1876, Battle of Little Bighorn in Montana.

The re-enactment is told from the tribal perspective. Joe Medicine Crow, a historian from the Crow Tribe, wrote the narration for the battle in which Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer and the 7th Cavalry were defeated.

The ceremony started with a song by Medicine Crow in tribute of Crazy Horse and Custer. Dozens of re-enactors portray both sides of the battle.
