Report: Seneca-Cayuga Tribe has bigger plans in store

The Seneca-Cayuga Tribe of Oklahoma has been floating plans for a full-fledged Class III casino in New York, The Syracuse Post-Standard reports.
The tribe has been purchasing land in its ancestral territory. Citing a related court decision, the tribe says it has sovereign rights on the land. The dispute is before a federal judge.
So far, the tribe has limited its plans to a Class II bingo facility. But the tribe has been proposing to settle its portion of the 63,000-acre land claim for gaming rights. A draft agreement calls on local leaders to help push for a Class III compact with the state, the paper reports.
The Cayuga Nation of New York, also a party to the claim, doesn't support the tribe's presence in the state.
